Nurturing Faith

Faith and Witness Ministries at Second Reformed Church provide opportunities to learn and grow in our understanding of Christian faith and in our ability to apply it to our lives. As we develop new ideas and ways of living we learn to witness faithfully to the reconciling love of God.

Sundays at Second

11:15 a.m. – 12:15 p.m. – Children in Worship
Children’s ministry at Second Church seeks to establish a positive and solid understanding of the Biblical stories that illustrate the grace of God. Children, ages 3 through 5th grade wonder and imagine as the stories are creatively told on a weekly basis. Children respond to stories of God through continued working with the story figures and art materials.  Through hearing God’s stories and responding to them, children are able to experience God.

11:15 a.m. – 12:15 a.m. Second Thoughts
The adult second hours will be comprised of many exciting topics.

11:15 a.m. – 12:15 p.m. – Youth Group Bible Study

5:00 – 6:30 p.m. – Youth Group - Click here to visit the Youth Page!
There is an old and rich story of a God and the people loved by that God. Most of that story happened a long time ago to people far away from here, but that story is also our story. What does it mean to be the people of God? Is God still speaking to us? Is God still writing the story? The theme at SRC this fall is "Taking the Next Step." What is the next step in God's story? Our story? Your story? Come hang out with us on Sunday evenings this year. We will laugh, play, goof around, hear and participate in this rich story. Everyone is welcome. We can't wait to see you there!

Mondays at Second

7:00 – 8:00 p.m. – Spirit Women Bible Study
On Monday evenings, we will study the Fruits of the Spirit that Paul writes about in the book of Galatians.
We will take an in depth look at each:  Love, Peace, Joy, Patience, Kindness, Generosity, Faithfulness, Gentleness, and Self-Control.  As we move through each of these we will use this time for self-reflection and life application.  Together we can gain a deeper understanding of what   being ”in Christ” really means and become the person God wants us to be!  To join – please contact Char VanBeek at ext. 104.

In addition to selections from the traditional repertoire, the Chancel Choir also performs occasional contemporary pieces, spirituals, contemplative interludes and meditations, and robust introits.
